1 Vibe was born out of urgency. The urgency to stop waiting for someone else to fix our neighborhoods, tell our stories, or build our wealth. We decided to do it ourselves — block by block, vibe by vibe.
Our Story
From the Streets to the System
1 Vibe started with a simple observation: the communities with the most culture, creativity, and resilience are the same ones with the fewest resources. That math never added up to us.
So we built a bridge. A pathway that starts with listening — really listening — to what people need. Then we help them own their stories, build their communities, heal their trauma, create real infrastructure, and stack generational wealth.
We're not a nonprofit that holds meetings about meetings. We're organizers, creators, and builders who show up, do the work, and make sure the money follows the mission.
As a project of Family Action Network, 1 Vibe has the infrastructure and credibility to operate at scale while keeping the grassroots energy that makes our work real.

Jonathan Barlow
Jonathan Barlow is a community organizer, technologist, and social entrepreneur from Detroit, Michigan. With deep roots in street culture and a vision for systemic change, Jonathan built 1 Vibe to be the platform he wished existed growing up — one that takes the energy of the block and channels it into lasting power.
Jonathan's approach is simple: meet people where they are, give them tools that actually work, and never lose sight of the fact that community wealth is the only wealth that lasts. Through Family Action Network and a growing ecosystem of programs, he's turning that philosophy into reality — one vibe at a time.
